Original106 Radio Interview

Stuart was interviewed live on Original106 radio last week by DJ Iain Meadows (pictured). He was joined by Dave Adcock of EU Welcome in a discussion about the Polish Community in Southampton and the efforts of The new Polish Arts group to help intergrate them in the Cultural life of the City. The producers were very impressed with the interview and expressed an interest in making a follow up programme, perhaps coming live from one of our events! so watch this space....
If you'd like to hear the interview, you can email me at stuartjebbitt@hotmail.com and I can send you an MP3 version.

Bargate Young Mum's arts group - Celebration Display

'St Mary's Coming together - summer of festival fun'

Remember the gold ball that was doing the rounds in St Mary's? - this is it in the Central Housing Office on St Mary Street where it was showed off for 2 weeks.

And then it found its way to St Mary's Parish Church - where it has just finished a 3 week stint.

Add to this, the photo display in St Mary's Surgery - and all in all, it turned out to be a grand tour for the gold ball decorated by local children through the local festivals (K2 Youth Festival and St Mary's Community Festival).

It was the chance to let people see the work they'd produced over the summer.
And it was another opportunity to tell people about the arts group for young mums aged 18-25 that will hopefully be starting some time in October.

Watch this space for more news on the group.

Prospective Arts Group Planned for Mansbridge

We are hoping to set up an ongoing arts/crafts group for the Mansbridge area, with the support of Swaythling Housing and St Marys Church.
The group could involve Music, Art, Carnival Workshops, Drama, Photography, and even trips out, anything that helps bring people without costing a lot of money!

The first meeting of the new group will be at
St Mary’s Church Hall – Wessex lane, South Stoneham
On Friday 28th September at 10am.

There will be a presentation explaining the project and showing example ideas, followed by refreshments and a chance to chat

If you're feeling in a bit of a rut, this could be just what you need! You don't need to be particularly talented in any area; just a willingness to meet people and have fun is all that’s required!
